Traveling with your cat can be stressful for both you and your little buddy. Trips to the vets office are often traumatizing. Pet owners usually unhinge or unzip the pet carrier in order to slip their hand inside to comfort their furry feline friend. While this is well-intentioned, it is frought with danger.

Determined cats can stick their heads and paws out making it nearly impossible to put them back inside, and increasing the overall stress to the pet. Enter Hatch, a new company that has designed a pet carrier that safely allows pet parents to reach inside the carrier without having to open any zippers or doors. The new Hatch product should be available in early 2016, but in order to make this product a reality, they are looking for backers of their Kickstarter campaign.

The inventor,  Jon Mirsky, was inspired by his beloved golden tabby cat, Junior. While Junior was an abled traveler in his youth, he began to struggle during trips as he aged. Like many of us, Jon would open the zippers on his carrier to comfort Junior, but doing so often resulted in the 15-pound tabby forcing his way out of the bag. And from these struggles, Hatch was born.

NOTE: Always be careful when traveling with your pet. The safetest place for your pet, should you get into an accident, is on the backseat floor between the front and back seats.
