2018 GLOBAL PET EXPO HIGHLIGHTS

The 2018 Global Pet Expo –the largest trade show in the pet industry– took place in Orlando, Florida from March 21 – 23. While we would have loved to escape Chicago’s last-ditch effort at winter weather, we did not attend the event. But, we followed the coverage and have rounded up a few new products you (and your cat) might be interested in checking out. Read on to learn more!

PETRONICS MOUSR

The Petronics Mousr is a cat toy for tech lovers. Set for release in April, Mousr is described by Petronics as “the most sophisticated cat toy on the market,” thanks to its use of sensors and artificial intelligence. You may have noticed that not all cats play the same way. Petronics understands this, so they created Mousr to be compatible with multiple play styles, and it can be bought with up to ten different detachable tails. You can set Mousr up to play with your cat on its own, or you can control it yourself with the Mousr app. The Petronics Mousr is $149 for the base package, which includes the Mousr robot, charging dock, two tails and a charging cable.

ONE FUR ALL PET FRIENDLY CANDLES

One Fur All, a company known for its Pet House line of pet-friendly, natural soy wax candles, has released a new spring line. Scents such as bamboo watermint, fresh cut roses and fresh citrus can be bought as a candle, wax melt or car freshener. One Fur All’s products are great because you can enjoy them knowing they are perfectly safe for your pets. Just remember to be aware of your cat’s whereabouts when burning a candle. That said, you may want to opt for a wax melt, as these can be used without an exposed flame.

OUR PETS COSMIC GOLD CATNIP NUGGETS

OurPet’s debuted their newest catnip product at the Global Pet Expo. Cosmic Gold Catnip Nuggets were launched at the expo after years of research and testing, and they are said to be up to three times stronger than other catnip products. According to an OurPet’s press release, Cosmic Gold Catnip Nuggets are tested safe for cats and are produced in the U.S. from a formula that uses a non-GMO catnip seed, producing a plant with the highest known amount of aromatic oil in the market. The catnip nuggets are not yet available for purchase.

The Global Pet Expo is a huge event – the exhibitors we highlighted are just four of 549 that showcased products for cats, but these companies in particular garnered enough attention online that we thought we’d share them with you. We encourage you to browse this list of all the companies who were at the expo with cat-related products. You’re sure to discover something new for your cat to fall in love with!
