STUDY FINDS CAT OWNERS USE MORE THAN DOUBLE THE STORAGE OF DOG OWNERS ON PET PHOTOS EACH YEAR
Personal cloud storage company, MiMedia conducted a nationwide study looking at digital media trends around dog and cat owners. They conducted a survey of 1,000 pet owners and the findings may or may not surprise you – cat owners use double the photo storage of dog owners. Forty percent of participants admit that they have run out of room on their smartphone because they take so many photos and videos of Fluffy and Fido.
Key findings:
Photos per day
Cat owners average 4-5 cat photos per day, equating to 3.03 GB of storage per year compared to only 2 photos by dog owners.
Video length over 11 seconds
30% of cat videos are over 11 seconds in length, compared to 40% of dog videos
Videos per week
Only 7% of cat owners take more than 2 videos of their cats per week, compared to 10% of dog owners.
Photo sharing
42% of all dog and cat videos and/or pictures are shared
70% of pet photos are shared via text message
Beyond photographs, Hunch.com conducted a survey of hundreds of thousands of pet owners to find out how dog people compare to cat people. They examined a variety of differences among dog owners and cat owners including:
