CATBARET VARIETY SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

By Katniss, Cat Reporter

Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats is serious about getting homeless cats off the street.  They may be a small non-profit organization, but they’ve made big strides in the areas of TNR (trap-neuter-release), assisting with the medical bills and feeding of street cats, and finding furrever homes for those felines they are able to socialize.  This past weekend, on August 1st, they hosted the 5th annual CATbaret fundraiser which brought in $60,000 for Los Angeles’ street cats.  Purrtty impressive!

The show took place in Hollywood’s Avalon Theatre and featured musical purrformances and skits by such talents as Fred Willard (“Modern Family”), Elaine Hendrix (FX’s “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll”), Nicole Sullivan (Fox’s “Family Guy”), Jeff Parise (“General Hospital”), Keith David (“Community”), Jaime Ray Newman (“Mind Games”), Fred Stoller (“Everybody Loves Raymond”), Lori Alan (“Inside Out”) and my favorite, the talented Nora the Piano Cat.

In between numbers, audiences were treated to amewsing videos by Lil Bub, Cole & Marmalade, the award-winning and hissterical CATastrophes webseries, klusmanp’s “Cat Yodeling,” a cat-themed song by Amy Schumer and the debut of the rockin’ music video Kitty Decides by Cat Woman, Amy Raasch.

As a feline myself, I was particularly moved that after a lion-themed sketch and song, there was a slide which paid tribute to the late, great Cecil the Lion.

The event and celeb-filled after purrty were so much fun and a big success.  Good work, Kitty Bungalow!  See you again next year![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
