Bobcat Fever is on the rise in Tennessee and is deadly for cats. The disease is transmitted by ticks that bite a bobcat and then the tick goes on to bite a domestic cat. The disease is not a danger to humans or dogs.
The best way to prevent this disease from afflicting your cat is to keep them indoors. While flea and tick treatments might help, they do not provide a guarantee.

The disease is feline specific, so you don't have to worry about yourself or dogs getting Bobcat Fever.
