FEBREZE IN WASH ODOR ELIMINATOR

Product eliminates odors, doesn’t just cover them up!

Sometimes pets are smelly. Sometimes people smell icky too – especially our clothes! The people at Febreze recently sent me a sample of their Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator to try it out. First, I don’t like to buy any product that was tested on animals… so I checked with them to be sure. I as reassured by their PR contact that the product was not tested on animals… and so I decided to try the product on a couple of different items: a pet bed and a business suit!

Test 1: Pet Bed

While my cats tend to smell delicious most of the time, once in a while, they will cough up a hairball in an inopportune area. One of my cats left a hairball present on his pet bed, so it was a great candidate for this test.

I tossed the pet bed into the wash using regular fragrance-free detergent and then put the Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator in as well.

When the wash was finished, it came out smelling and looking really fresh. The smell was very pleasant – not too strong at all. I was so impressed, that I decided to do another test.

Test 2: Women’s Business Skirt Suit

I have a favorite business suit that I am having a hard time parting with. It has been to the dry cleaner over and over throughout the last few years and each time, smells less and less fresh. I was ready to just come to terms with tossing it. Since my favorite suit had a date with the garbage can, I thought it would be a great candidate to try this product. I have never even attempted to wash a suit in the regular wash at home – but decided I had nothing to lose.

I tossed the suit into the washer, added some Woolite, for delicate fabrics and then my favorite, albeit smelly, suit. Finally, I added in the Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator and let it run. When the cycle was finished, I expected to see my once-favorite-suit disintegrated in tattered little pieces stuck all over the washing machine. To my surprise and delight, that was not the case! Not only was it in one piece – it smelled amazing!! This product actually helped save my suit. I hung it up to dry and have been wearing it since – with confidence! (I’ve even washed it a few more times with great results!)

I’m definitely sold on this product and would recommend it to anyone who has less-than-fresh smelling items that they would like to get really clean. Great stuff!!
