MEET THE MAJESTIC (ENDANGERED) PERSIAN LEOPARD

The Persian Leopard, also known as Panthera pardus saxicolor, is native to Iran.  According to Iranian media, in the last 40 days alone, seven of them have been killed or injured by poachers, food poisoning or cars.  This majestic cat is up to 75 centimeters in height and weighs in at 60-90 kilograms.  Little is known about the true population size, but it is estimated that only 550 – 850 of these beautiful animals exists in the wild.
